Try Our New Eggplant Panini
Last fall I went to a local restaurant (Nola Mia) in Faubourg Marigny next to the French Quarter for several work-related lunches, and after trying their eggplant Parmesan panini, I could never bring myself to order anything else. I am always a sucker for grilled sandwiches, and in fact this is the sandwich that is responsible for me liking eggplant in the first place.
”But they had me at panini!”
My boyfriend and I are staying in the area again for a vacation from the cold Northern weather and we stopped into this cute restaurant for lunch. The staff was welcoming and very efficient. They informed us that everything was homemade and you could definitely tell. The warm, fresh Italian bread was that of an expensive restaurant. The panini, a eggplant Parmesan, was to die for. It was wonderful experience! Be sure to stop and an enjoy a little Italian paradise!

I now just moved to New Orleans and stumbled upon this excellent original style Italian cooking. The best pizza, panini, and gelato I’ve ever eaten. Staff is extremely friendly. The owner Raffaele Iorro and his wife Roseanne really make you feel like family when your their. It’s the best of both worlds big easy menu with an alfresco atmosphere.

Parmesan wasn’t used in these classic Italian versions because it comes from the northern city of Parma

I loved his minimalist approach — every ingredient was able to shine.
